The game gives a great perspective and reflection of the ripping 1960s and 1970s, the storyline itself changes the period at a certain interval that I’ll not divulge as to not spoil it for newcomers. It hooks you in right at the beginning with its solid characters being introduced, along with gameplay mechanics, storytelling and fantastic soundtrack.
I personally enjoyed this game when it first came out, it was a big leap forward for the franchise and people disliked it straight away but I enjoyed every minute. The gunplay was a massive improvement, still is the best in the franchise. The only thing that let it down for me on Day One of the pre-order release was the amount of glitches, game breaking bugs and issues that I’ve discovered early on, that let me down, otherwise a well polished game and I’m actually considering playing it again after all these years. Well done Hangar 13 for making such an underrated game.

A really great storyline and beautifully presented game, with cutscenes that make it feel like a film. The sprawling countrysides and small towns made it feel like you were in the early 19th Century. The game lets it down in various areas; I actually became lost in the towns, it felt like a maze and became very disorienting to navigate, not enough petrol/gas stations to use. The only other thing that lets it down is how slow the game is to heal Enzo even when using cover during fire fights, the knife fight moments are ill-timed… great story, characters, cutscenes and general aesthetics but the game lets it down in other areas. Not the best game of the year but certainly not the worst either.
