Name: Aquilegia vulgaris (European Columbine) (Also Known As: Common Columbine; Granny’s Bonnet; Granny’s Nightcap)Description: Purple Flowers with white petals, common gardening plant. Family friend gave us a packet of seeds containing gardening perennials. The European Columbine is a gardening perennial flower which often grows between late Spring and early Summer. This flowering plant also comes in various colours including Purple, Blue and Pink.Is It Poisonous?: Yes but only mild symptoms if ingested without taking precautions beforehand. Boiling it in hot water or crushing it will destroy the poison. If handled by hand, do not touch your face, your mouth or any part of your body. Make sure you wear protective gloves when handling.
