Mimic (1997) Review (Film Reviews) (Reviews)

Review by Warren Woodhouse

Review Date & Time: 1st April 2026 at 9:00 am

Rating (out of 5 stars): 5 stars

A horror film set in New York about a group of scientists who genetically engineered a cockroach to sort out the food shortage problem. After days have passed and bodies have turned up, thoughts begin to stir up about their experiments that were supposedly destroyed. Unfortunately they weren’t and are now preying on humans above the surface. An absolutely fantastic horror thriller with jumpscare scenes at every moment and turn. Cool explosion scenes and action scenes keep you gripped to your seat! Also, a great introduction into Autism as a child showcases these characteristics in the film quite well. A fantastic Guillermo del Toro film. This is back when scary films didn’t hold back on the horror. Highly recommend.

Master with Cracked Fingers (1979) Review (Film Reviews) (Reviews)

Rating: 3 Stars

The sound quality isn’t great, the locations are beautiful and the kung fu is ok. As far as films goes, it isn’t the worst one I’ve seen and it’s still a good film to watch.

Marvel’s Eternals (2021) Review (Film Reviews) (Reviews)

 Review by Warren Woodhouse

Review Date: 12th January 2022 at 9:40 pm

Rating (out of 5 stars): 3 Stars

Great origin entry MCU Marvel Cinematic Universe film with lots of great scenes, memorable characters, charming story and intriguingly great use of misremembered encounters in the human timeline. It's a fantastic film, as many Marvel films are. A few things that let it down are characters that were great on screen were cut out to early, a lot of dialogue that wasn't really clear nor relative to the plot (which could of been easily left out) and unnecessarily too long in some scenes. Regardless, it's still a great film to watch as is. An engaging film with various plot twists, locations and memorable characters and intriguing storytelling.

Rating (out of 5 stars): 5 Stars

A wonderful, epic MCU Marvel Cinematic Universe origin film with a different twist on the characters and the locations involved. The film has a well-known cast along with newer faces as well. It has a very interesting plot and the scope of the music makes it feel more dynamic. Memorable characters and interesting storytelling drive this film to its glorious finale.

Unstoppable (2010) Review (Film Reviews) (Reviews)

Review by Warren Woodhouse

Review Date & Time: 20th April 2011 at 10:45 am

Rating: 8/10

I was watching a movie this morning titled “UNSTOPPABLE”, co-produced by Dune Entertainment III, LLC, produced by Prospect Park 1-Scott Free and presented by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, LLC. and was all based on actual events of this amazingly detailed action-thriller starring Denzel Washington (Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3) and Chis Pine (Star Trek (2009)), with exciting story telling, thrilling special effects and edge-of-your-seat blow-my-ear-drums-till they-pop surround sound 5.1, the DVD is worth to get and would look better if you have a Blu-Ray player!
A runaway freight train (freight trains deliver cargo shipments from railyards to railyards to docks and so on), transporting deadly toxic
Stanton (South Pennsylvania, USA.) and only two men (who ignored orders by their own corporate boss) can stop it: a veteran/retired engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine).
Thousands of lives hang in the balance as these two ordinary railroad workers become unlikely heroes as they prevent a disaster on a small industrial town.
