How To Import All of your Blog Posts from Tumblr to Blogger (Tutorials) (How Tos)

 Tutorial by Warren Woodhouse

Step 1: Export from Tumblr
  1. Log in to Tumblr and go to your blog settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Export section.
  3. Click Export [blog name] and download your backup zip file once it is ready. (Alternatively, use WordPress's direct Tumblr importer tool in the next step).

Step 2: Use WordPress as an Intermediary
  1. Create a free account on WordPress.com.
  2. From your WordPress Dashboard, go to Tools > Import.
  3. Find Tumblr and click Install Now or Run Importer / Connect to Tumblr.
  4. Log in to your Tumblr account and authorize WordPress to access your blog, then select Import this blog.
  5. Once the import finishes, go to Tools > Export on WordPress and choose Export All to download an XML file of your content.

Step 3: Convert or Import into Blogger
  1. Because Blogger natively accepts specific XML structures (often matching WordPress export formats), log in to your Blogger dashboard.
  2. Select the blog you want to import into.
  3. Go to Settings in the left-hand menu.
  4. Scroll down to the Manage blog section.
  5. Click Import content (or Import Blog under older layouts).
  6. Upload the XML file you downloaded from WordPress. Complete any verification prompt (like a captcha).
  7. Choose whether you want to automatically publish all imported posts immediately or save them as drafts first.
